Private by design.
Small Pause is built to provide useful reminders without observing the content of your work.
What stays on your Mac
Reminder preferences, active-work counters, completion history, pause state, training settings, and a bounded minimal feedback history are stored locally. Feedback contains only event type, reminder kind, and time.
Smart Timing uses aggregate input-event counts, time since the last input, and transient frontmost-app switching locally. It does not store app names in feedback and does not read keys, code, documents, screenshots, window text, websites, or clipboard contents.
AI hook events
If a Pro user enables the optional AI hook, a local helper sends only an event name such as thinking_started and a short tool label to 127.0.0.1 on the same Mac. The listener is not exposed to the local network or internet.
No camera or microphone access
Small Pause does not request or use camera or microphone permission. Reminders are based on coarse local activity signals, not visual monitoring.
Purchases and licences
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Its checkout receives the billing and payment information you provide. When activating, validating, or deactivating Pro, the app sends the licence key, a generated device identifier, and the Mac's local device name directly to Lemon Squeezy's licence API. The licence key and instance details are stored in macOS Keychain.
Website
The website does not use advertising trackers. Cloudflare may process standard request data such as IP address, browser information, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. Your language preference is stored in browser local storage.
Your choices
You can disable Smart Timing, system notifications, sound, individual office actions, AI hooks, and pelvic-floor practice. You can pause reminders, deactivate a Pro licence, or remove the app and its local data.
